Accounting Coordinator

Reports To: The Director of Finance

Job Summary:
The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for managing the accounts receivable cycle including invoicing and collections; account reconciliation and customer service; and supporting HR/Accounting functions by maintaining spreadsheets and responding to inquiries.  This is a full time position in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date billing system in the SAP accounting application
  • Proactively generate and send out invoices
  • Follow up on, collect and allocate payments; prepare bank deposits
  • Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Generate age analysis and monitor AR aging reports
  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records
  • Follow established procedures for processing payments
  • Process credit card payments
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries
  • Process adjustments
  • Initiate collection efforts
  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, mail
  • Assist with month-end closing
  • Collect data and prepare monthly metrics
  • Foster and maintain positive working relationships with teams and clients
  • Maintain spreadsheets for HR Leave of Absence tracking and bi-weekly payroll detail
  • Respond to:  inquiries from various government agencies for employment info; to agencies for employment verification; and to a variety of misc. requests from HR vendors/partners
  • Contribute to Relevate culture with a positive attitude, respectful interactions, and ethical behavior

Education/Experience:

  • Knowledge of accounts receivable and general accounting principals
  • Proficiency with Windows applications including MS Excel and MS Word
  • Knowledge of Intacct software a plus
  • Five years + of accounts receivable and general accounting experience in a marketing or similar industry preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree
